Stupid chain post

Saw some really stupid and ridiculous chain post on facebook:

This will Mess With Your Head.

3 MEN GO INTO A MOTEL. THE MAN BEHIND THE DESK SAID THE ROOM IS $30, SO EACH MAN PAID $10 AND WENT TO THE ROOM.

A WHILE LATER THE MAN BEHIND THE DESK REALIZED THE ROOM WAS ONLY $25, SO HE SENT THE BELLBOY TO THE 3 GUYS' ROOM WITH $5.

ON THE WAY, THE BELLBOY COULDN'T FIGURE OUT HOW TO SPLIT $5 EVENLY BETWEEN 3 MEN, SO HE GAVE EACH MAN A $1 AND KEPT THE OTHER $2 FOR HIMSELF.

THIS MEANT THAT THE 3 MEN EACH PAID $9 FOR THE ROOM, WHICH IS A TOTAL OF $27, ADD THE $2 THAT THE BELLBOY KEPT = $29.

WHERE IS THE OTHER DOLLAR? SEND THIS TO 5 PEOPLE AND THE ANSWER WILL APPEAR ON YOUR SCREEN

Anyone figured it out already? If not, please highlight the words below if you are interested in what I think about this.

Facts of this situation.

1) The total amount which the three men spent: $25 + $2 = $ 27, a number which is factor of 3.

2) The total amount of money returned: $3, $1 per man.

3) The $2 spent by the men are "hidden" tips which was unaccounted for.

4) The real cost of the room is $25.

Ok, after understanding the facts, here's a question which I would like to ask the person who wrote this atrocious post: Since we have already accounted for the $2 which the bellboy took in the $27 spent, why should we add another $2 to the total of $27? This is ridiculous. This isn't even maths, it's just some idiot trying to act smart and send the chain post hoping that more idiots will follow. Since adding another $2 to the $27 will produce a number of 29, which is not a factor of 3, people will wonder what had happened. It's clear from the facts that every single buck has been accounted for. This is not magic, this is not maths, this is just something a prankster sent to treat people like idiots. Real shame.
