Sources

What are sources? In my university (CUHK), sources are model answers for things such as assignments which are generated by some "pros" who did the work, or from previous years or semesters. So basically, sources are answer keys to assignments. ... But why am I writing something about sourcing. Firstly, sources should not appear as it will cause plagiarism and things like that. It is also not ethical to copy from sources. But most important of all ... there are sources for ACTUAL TESTS!!! What on Earth happened, I don't really know and don't really care. But hey, people are COPYING LEGALLY FROM SOURCES!!! DURING A TEST!!! The fustration of it all, man... During that test, the professor allowed "one sheet of formula", and those dudes just copied all the answer from the source to that formula sheet and then just copied during the test, legally. Oh man ... for the sake of all things good, please, LET ME OUT OF THIS HELL OF A DEPARTMENT!!! Argh~!

Mensa mensa mensa... Many of you might not know what on Earth is mensa. Well, it is a so-called non-profitable organization which brings together people with ... *AHEM* high IQ. Well, here's an abstract from hong kong mensa's webby:

Background

Mensa was founded in England in 1946 by Roland Berrill, a barrister, and Dr. Lance Ware, a scientist and lawyer. They had the idea of forming a society for bright people, the only qualification for membership of which was a high IQ. The original aims were, as they are today, to create a society that is non-political and free from all racial or religious distinctions. The society welcomes people from every walk of life whose IQ is in the top 2% of the population, with the objective of enjoying each other's company and participating in a wide range of social and cultural activities.

Mensa has three stated purposes: to identify and foster human intelligence for the benefit of humanity, to encourage research in the nature, characteristics and uses of intelligence, and to promote stimulating intellectual and social opportunities for its members.

Uniqueness

The word Mensa is Latin for table and indicates that Mensa is a 'round table' society in which no individual has preference.

Mensa has no racial, political, ideological or religious affiliation but promotes the concept of free thinking and free speech amongst its members. Therefore Mensa does not in itself have a view on most topics, but reflects a wide variety of different views. The general principle is that if even one member out of 100,000 holds an opposing view on something, the opinion of the rest cannot be said to represent Mensa's view. It is held that each member is intelligent enough to make his or her own judgment on controversial topics.

Members

The only common binding thread is that all members must have attained a score within the upper 2% of the general population on an approved test, as determined and administered by Mensa psychologists. There is no other basis for membership, whoever you are, whatever you do.

Currently there are over 100,000 members in over 100 countries around the world. The largest concentrations are in the UK and USA, but in recent years new groups have been set up in many parts of Asia and other countries.

Anyway, when I've first heard about the society (from wiki), I was like OMG, it's so cool man~~~. So I've went for the test, paid the hundred fifty and a week later they've sent me an e-mail which is shown below:



W0000t~! Offically a mensan! Anyway, after joining, they've issued a mensan e-mail to everyone and here is mine

Oh and there's also a forum and they held gatherings every now and then, but I guess there's an age gap between the peeps there and me so ... just leave it for the time being.

Been long O.o

Wah... so long never come in le ... But does it matter? No one came in for a visit or stuff ... so this blog is still pretty private =P. Thing's still the same... Feeling screwed by the same old crappy school everyday =.=' WHEN WILL THE INTERVIEW BE HELD?! Faster interview, faster give offer, FASTER GET THE HELL OUT OF THIS HELL-HOLE! Oh well... I am quite sick of saying all these crap le ... =/ So I hope I wont see such at thing in the future =P
